Claire Jones

Claire Jones was born in Wales in 1985, and following her appointment as Official Harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales in 2007, she went on to achieve a First Class Honors degree from London’s Royal College of Music, and graduated as an MA Scholar from the Royal Academy of Music (2009), with her mentor Professor Skaila Kanga. She made her début concerto appearance with the English Chamber Orchestra in 2008, and was reinvited to join the ECO and Raymond Leppard for performances in 2009. She has also performed concerti with numerous other distinguished orchestras including the Philharmonia, European Union, Ulster, and as guest soloist with Maestro Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theatre Ballet. Claire premièred a Royal commission in 2010 – a concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra by Patrick Hawes in the presence of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, and has since released the recording on Universal and Classic FM label. She also launched her new concerto album at Cadogan Hall, London in 2010, with the English Chamber Orchestra, conductor Paul Watkins and flautist William Bennett. The recording, released by Signum Classics, includes Glière’s Harp Concerto and Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp. Other highlights include solo appearances with Bryn Terfel, Julian Lloyd Webber, Alfie Boe, William Bennett, Owain Arwel Hughes and recitals all over the UK, Europe and America. Claire has performed for the Royal Family on over 100 occasions including private performances for Her Majesty the Queen and recitals in Palaces all over the UK.
