Elizabeth Walker

“As perfect a demonstration of the modern wood flute’s capabilities as one could wish to hear” —Review from BFS for Elizabeth’s recording of Telemann’s Fantasias.

Elizabeth Walker is a flute teacher at the specialist music school in Wells, Somerset and performs regularly on baroque, eight-keyed classical, recorder and modern flute.

Elizabeth has recorded the Telemann 12 Fantasias and the Bach Flute Sonatas on her wooden FluteMakers Guild flute for Quartz Music Limited and recorded a CD of Schubert’s works for flute and piano for the record label ‘DevineMusic’ using an early Louis Lot flute, no 435 coupled with Chopin’s original Ignace Pleyel piano from 1848, housed at Hatchlands, UK. She has arranged and recorded ‘Four Strauss Songs’, the Mozart Flute concerto slow movement (to perform with the flautists attending her successful ‘Flutes in Tuscany’ annual flute course), and ‘Mendelssohn – Four Songs Without Words’ for two flutes and piano. Elizabeth has given solo recitals in Chicago (NFA 2014), Orlando (NFA 2018), the International Piano Festival in Geelvinck, Holland (2015), Toronto (2013/2015 Canadian Flute Convention), Switzerland (2014) and has presented a number of recitals and presentations at the British Flute Society convention in London.
