Roger Arve Vigulf

Roger Arve Vigulf, one of the leading Norwegian clarinettists, studied under the tutelage of R. Kjelstrup and T. Bratbak at the Norwegian Music Academy and L. Jørgensen and Lee Morgan in Copenhagen. Besides his solo career and work in Ensemble Polaris, he has been a member of the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, Norwegian Radio and Television Orchestra, the Band of the Armed Forces in Northern Norway, as well as Kristiansund Opera.

He has given concerts in Great Britain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the USA, Sweden, Philippines, the Netherlands and Croatia. He has taken part in contemporary music festivals, appeared with Cicada, Ametri and Sarajevo String Quartets, Oslo Philharmonic String Quartet, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and Kaunas Symphony Orchestra. Since 2003, as a member of the Disobedient Ensemble he has taken part in festivals in Nida. In addition, he is a leader and member of Vestfold Sinfonietta. A number of international composers have dedicated their works to this ingenious clarinettist.

As a composer, his works have been performed in Sweden, the Netherlands, the USA, Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Lithuania.
