| This CD is worth buying for the three tracks featuring Sky from Morcheeba alone. If you are a fan of Morcheeba, you're going to love the classic song "Col" in any case. It's in the two other tracks by Ewan MacColl "The First Time Ever I saw your Face" and Kurt Weill "Mack the Knife" that she's a revelation. Silky, smooth and sumptuous! The other tracks are an eclectic mix too and the chances are you'll like some things and not others (which is the only reason I've given this a rating of 4). I personally loved the calm, ethereal quality of the Arvo Part and Erik Satie tracks but wasn't so keen on the 70s arrangements of Bowie, Floyd et al! All elegantly made arrangements, beautifully performed. |
