Jack Liebeck - Works for Violin & Piano

I was lucky enough to see Jack Liebeck play at the South Bank Centre a couple of years ago and was very impressed. When I heard that his debut disc had been nominated for a Classical Brit I decided to remind myself of his playing. Nothing had quite prepared me for what's on this disc! Young "wunderkinds" are ten a penny these days but what makes Jack Liebeck stand out (for me at least) is the fact that he seems to combine technical fireworks with musical maturity way beyond his years. Gorgeous sound, rock solid technique and lots of well-judged drama. I listened to it twice in a row and then bought several copies for my friends/family. Can't say fairer than that!!
